As Christians, we need spiritual food to be strong. Like sheep, we need to be protected and guided to good ground. This is so we can grow, mature, and be spiritually healthy. If we don't get fed, we will starve because man shall not live by bread alone (Luke 4.4).
God's Word is our spiritual food. Just like sheep need new ground to graze on, we need to cover new ground in God's Word. If we are always led to the same spot we will be spiritually weak.
We're supposed to grow and mature so we can bring forth fruit (see Faith vs. Works). Immature believers who always need milk aren't very useful to God, "For everyone partaking of milk is without experience in the Word of Righteousness, for he is an infant" (Hebrews 5:13 LITV bible).
Scripture makes us strong in the process of salvation (2nd Timothy 3.15). However, man changes the spiritual food of scripture into something that's more convenient and flattering. Man takes the Word of God and turns it into spiritual junk food. The spiritual man is weakened by spiritual junk food.
